VAIO Sony dead after trying to install Ubuntu-12.04.2 to acc

My Windows 8 is corrupted on my VAIO Sony Laptop, so I tried to install Ubuntu-12.04.2 to access my data. I didn't get very far, however, because after I selected to boot from 'internal optical drive' and 'enabled' for 'secure boot' in the UEFI, and put the Ubuntu CD in, the screen went black. Now, I can't get it to switch on again at all nor can I get the CD out of the drive. When I press the 'assist' button to boot through UEFI or the power button to boot normally, the power and battery lights illuminate for the amount of time I'm holding either button down but nothing else happens. It's a new laptop - model SVE151G13M - that I bought in Germany very recently but can't get fixed under warranty because I'm currently in South Africa and the warranty is not valid here. Please help me with any sort of information on this. It would be IMMENSLEY APPRECIATED! Thank you!
