Looking For Process Monitor

Anything a bit less cryptic?
I want to monitor a process (COM Surrogate) that is under "Background processes" in Windows 8 Task Manager. I want to find out what triggers it.
But I see nothing by that name in Process Monitor program that I downloaded.

A process name does not have to match the file name and in this OS you have no accountability that App1 launched App2.

I don't know how much background you have in programming or the Windows OS design but it appears I upset those that dive a little too deep too fast. That is, I can't hold a class on Windows Internals but there are books and more about that if you want.

However since you have a problem, why not toss that up for the forum to comment on?

I have enough problems trying to code in Access. It's like shooting pool with a rope.
It's not really a problem.
I have an sound assigned to the Windows Open event and something is triggering it every hlf hour or so. And it appears as COM Surrogate in Task Manager.

Windows launches apps on its own to do a lot of little things. As your topic question is covered, you may want to start a discussion about this issue.
