Windows 8 forum: Will Norton 360 5.0 work with Windows 8?

Visited Norton Website and if you follow the links to the WIndows 8 info there they say it will work with XP, W7 and W8 not getting a good feeling about but have to have some kind of Security running with all the worms, Trojan Horse and stuff it has block over the years would rather be "SAFE" then sorry. It is like using this forum my back space does not show where the cusor is and it is when editing a reply but that seems to be common on some forums out there you just have to continue on once you realize it.

Thought this would be known espcially here now that Windows 8 has been out for a month others must have some kind of security software running with Windows 8 but it appears not to be know yet!

Just have to try and see not good but I guess that is just technology these days many chanes one has to take!

They have their own forums and support system. This version came out well before any version of 8 and as we see, 8 is not a version of Windows with much support for prior Windows.

You have 5.0 and the current version is 6.0. Symantec writes the following:
"Before you upgrade to Windows 8, make sure that you have the latest version of the Norton product. If you do not have the latest version, you may see a compatibility error directing you to get the latest version. For more information on installing the latest version, read How to update your Norton product to the lastest version."

Another ding against 5.0

Have been using Windows 8 for over 2 months now and using the native Windows Defender + Malwarebytes. Have had no problems. One of the few things that seems to work.

I have in a flash drive various items

When had to do with no Start button, I have a Win8StartButtonSetup.exe in my flash drive along with a lot more. I had it stored in a 4GB flash drive so I reinstalled them into an 8 GB flash drive and formatting the 4GB. Darrell
