Thanks Bob,I did too and that's what most would think.
Maybe it's just me,but I'd rather use an easy transfer cable rather than a flash drive to do the deed.So I thought I'd confuse myself even more and do additional research.
Being a fan of Belkin,I researched their transfer cables to see what they said. They just came out with a cable made specifically for win8(F4U060),I thought "that's great".Then I researched compatibility of that cable with two 64 bit systems and found this:
"Migration from 32- to 64-bit and 32-bit to 32-bit is supported. Migration from
64- to 32-bit and 64-bit to 64-bit is not supported".
WTF!!,no explanation as to why, just that I can't use their cable to do it! Determined to confuse myself even more,I sent an email to Belkin asking 'WHY can't I do it?,is it a system/system problem or is it the interface module in your cable that won't let the two 64 bit systems talk to each other?" I'm awaiting their answer, which no doubt will confuse me even more.
When I have the time this weekend I'm going to try one of my flash drives and it should work.
