Can't download CNET programs with new Wndows 8

I JUST bought a brand new PC a few weeks ago and it came with Windows 8. Last night I tried to load 3-4 of the programs I had gotten previously of CNET and loved.

When I went to the download screen, and clicked the green 'download' button, nothing happened. I tried 2-3 programs. I then tried to reboot and start fresh.

I have 4 user accounts set up, but I am doing this while logged in as the Admin/Main account.

I have had Windows 8 for a few weeks, and I just keep running into quirky issues. I may post a few others as well, but I wanted to keep them in seperate threads.

Anyone else with Windows 8 hving the same issue? Is there any type of blocker I need to turn off or something?

Clarification request: What browser are you using?

Is it using IE9 or IE10?

Does it work with any other browsers?

Let me know so I can report it to the Download.com team.

Meanwhile, anyone with Windows 8 having this same issue?

I am using IE 10 from the desktop (versus I think what is called Metro) screen. I have not tried other browsers.

In the mean time, can you use Firefox or Chrome to download the programs?

Having trouble with downloads

Hey this isn't the exact same issue, but I've been having trouble with downloads as well

I have a HP Pavilion dv6
I got it a few months ago and just upgraded to windows 8 a few days ago.
After upgrading none of my downloads are finishing.
They'll get all the way up to 99% and then they just hang for about a minute.
Finally after that minute it seems like it finished, but when I try to open or run the file it says that it is corrupted and won't open.

I believe I'm using IE 10. I've tried with the full screen and the desktop version of the browser, they both do the same thing.

It does the same thing at my house and office so it can't be a router problem.

I've tried downloading about 10 different programs or files, any help would be appreciated.

you were trying to download?

This help out greatly. And do the downloads work if you downloaded them using another browser?

I'm trying to narrow the issue down to a specific browser--mainly IE10.

laptop this week and I've used download.com with not problems at all. I haven't had any problems downloading anything at all I've downloaded (Registry mechanic, Norton 360 from vendors ) and Firefox, Opera and Chrome from download.com.

returned PC, have a new one

In the middle of this, I returned that Dell, got another Dell XPS 8500. It was actually a slightly different one, with the main change being the video driver.

regardless, I have since downloaded a few programs. So I think, at least for me, issue solved. I am not 100% sure WHAT was driving my issues with the prior desktop. maybe just had a few glitches. There were a few minor 'weird' issues I ran into.

Glad to hear you are able to download the programs. The Download team just did a test using IE10 with Windows 8 and they had no issue downloading from our site.
