How can I share wireless internet with an ethernet cable?

With windows 7 i was able to do this by going to network settings and all of that and had no issues. Now with windows 8 I plug in my cable but it says the device is an unidentified network an I cannot figure out how to alter these settings. Thanks.

The whole reason I am having to share it between computers is because my computer is not near the router.

So for under 10 bucks add WiFi to the other PC?

I use something from amazon to add WiFi for under 10 bucks.

Let's be clear that many features are gone in Windows 8 that were in 7. Some folk are only now figuring this out. Some are losing a lot of time. Let's hope you catch on faster than some.
