My notebook turns off while playing some games with W8

Sorry if there's a thread on this already. I have a MSI 780dxr w/ a i7 and an Nvidia 570m (3gig) and playing some games the rig just shuts off. The fan is working like it always did before I upgraded from 7 to 8, and the turbo boost for the fan works as well. I want to like 8 but this is so annoying. Any suggestions?
