Windows 8 forum: Windows 8 Problems

How are you getting on with these issues?

From my run-ins with 8 so far I'm getting a bad feeling. Well, not so bad but I see I can't use it today.

Frankly it's time for you to consider going back to what you used before that worked.

Issues 2 and three have been resolved and got Index rebuilt but, still problems with it. New problems but these are with HP software, ie drivers windows 8 drivers either don't install or don't work, there soft updates for windows have problems. The only way I have been able to solve these is to go to manufactures web site and download there. The only ( here comes the rant) true resolution for HP is to fire their CEO, the whole Board of directors, and the whole Tech support department; then maybe we could get the computers, printers, and tech support we deserve and paid for. As it stands I will never buy another product from HP. ( Here come the Flame-throwers)(

If you recall some computer history we used to put off getting the latest OS for a while as we waited for reports as well as bugs to get sorted.

Windows 8 is a minefield as well as a parking lot full of potholes. That is you have the stuff that blows up and you find things missing (pothole.)

I'd ask for the prior OS till they sort it out.

PS. My bet is Windows 9 will be fine.

I don't think Microsoft would be willing to give me a copy of Windows &. As far as Windows 8 is concerned I have pretty well learned to get around with it. My main problem is the inability to do a clean install and get rid of all HP software, which can't be uninstalled, and the rest of the bloat they ship with their systems.

There is a lot of HP software we need to do things like turn on/off the WiFi and more. I can't help those that are just coming up to speed on how helper apps differ from crapware.

Also we can get rid of crapware manually. Even in 8.

Maybe you are just upset and taking the flames out on HP but we must keep some of the HP apps.

I have been looking for a newer Lapotop for a while when I do find one they are sold out quickly with Windows 7 and most now only have 8 on them so it is hard not to buy one with out and as mention switching back to 7 especially on an HP seems to be a lot to try and do.

And found plenty of laptops with Windows 7.

I can't guess why they are pushing Windows 8 so hard there. Must be something in their coffee.
