Thinking of Powerline for networking

I am now renting a room, and the house only has Internet downstairs.

W--Fi is the obvious way to go but the room is in back of the house up stairs and long way from the router so Wi-Fi might not have the range and speed.

I found the 2 Powerline adapters for $50, which is less than a good 11n router.

Looks like Powerline offers stability and speed in my situation.

Are there any other advantages of Powerline? Is it safe?

With that out of the way my other concern is that make. It's been in these forums before and folk are griping about poor manuals and support.

If you can return it without fees or trouble, it's not a bad price then again I see such on Amazon for about that and with Amazon Prime, no hassle returns.

I'll stop here and not write about powerline caveats about circuits etc.
