Auto-delete files for Dropbox?

The Tigertext guys have now released a new app that allows you to move files to a Dropbox account, and they will auto delete after x period of time.

This is just like their text messaging service which we use in medical for HIPAA compliance.

What I want to know, does Dropbox keep back ups of files, so they can be restored from accidental deletion, or is deleted completely deleted?

Can this work for Windows?

But the brutal truth is that once it's on any cloud it's out of your control. Just look at the US Government stance about that. Once you figure it out, you would never put anything in email or cloud that must remain out of the reach of folk.

Can I be any clearer?
