Upgrade to Win 8 from Win 7 Starter???

I was reading Cnet's article about the $39 upgrade to Win 8 but I was wondering if I could upgrade from Win 7 starter.

I have an HP mini 210 series Netbook with a RAM upgrade to 2 gig but the 32-bit OS is Windows 7 Starter.

1.66 GHz w/ 200gig HD

Can someone answer my question?

you may have to take the Compatibility Test, as described here;

I can't say whether Windows 7 Starter Edition will upgrade, but isn't the Starter Edition very limited anyway? There may be similar limitations in any upgraded version of Windows 8.

It's true that the starter edition has some limitations but I've grown into them and don't find them too inhibiting and I have another lapper and desktop computer to work with.
If I can upgrade to win 8 with the limitations I might consider it but it would be nice to get the whole enchilada with the upgrade.
I'm thinking though that the win 7 starter will be missing some key platform elements that win 8 will need in order to upgrade - basically it will be adding on to some items that are there already.

Can't upgrade win 8 from win 7 starter, trust me
There is only win 8 test key in the market, you could use one test key to try that OS
