I don't understand the whining

about 8. For those who haven't tried 8CP, do it and then comment on Metro, etc. Don't speculate without experience or with alpha version. What does it cost ya? Ok, a CD for the ISO and your time. Backup the image of you 7 or XP or whatever, so that you can restore to your beloved, if 8CP is still a total bummer.
I find that 8 works as well as 7, the core is as stable as 7, and Metro is an annoyance but not a deal breaker. 7 drivers work on 8. It boots and powers down faster, making HDDs seemingly acceptable compared to SSDs. Only found a glitch when an app crashes if I use the tab key in one instance but that is it! I won't be upgrading from 7 because ROI doesn't justify but I won't be upset for instance with 8 on an Ivy Bridge Ultrabook. Yum!
