installed windows 8 at school!

I did not realize what I was doing and REPLACED my current operating system with windows 8. Anyone know what to do. I still have all my files in Windows.Old

Easy:
1. You copy your Windows.old data back to where it belongs.
2. You make an extra copy to an external hard disk, just to be sure.
3. You install Windows 7 from the DVD again.
4. You reinstall all your applications.
5. You get your data back.

If you have recent image to restore:
1. You copy Windows old to an external hard disk.
2. And to a second place, just to be sure.
3. You restore the image
4. You redo the changes since the last image
5. You get your data back.

and I have to say one that catches many users out. All Windows Beta versions that I have known, (by whatever name), will over-install any existing OS unless specifically set not to.

What has school got to do with this?

machine, you buy a separate hard drive for it. You disconnect the HD you are currently using and install the new one in an extra bay. You install Win8 on that drive with no other OSs present. Once it's booted for the first time and you're done playing with it, you shut down and turn off the PC. You reconnect your primary OS drive. You boot the machine through the BIOS boot menu or by changing the boot order. Your old Windows OS will detect the new drive but should not bother it. From then on while you're trying the new OS, you switch between them using the BIOS boot menu. Keeping the two from interacting is a good idea.

If you haven't copy all the previous data when you replacing your previous window with window 8, then might you cannot get previous data in the new Window.

You must copy all the previous data and save it somewhere, so that your data remain save and sound. You still can can retrieve your lost data by running and data recovery Program.
