I have a lap top acer aspire 5736z with a wd hard disk ref wd3200bpvt
The computer suffered a total and sudden failure and after that it was impossible to reboot. When I run the recovery disk I receive a message indicating hardware problem "no i/o device found etc". The bios shows the HDD is present. I have installed another (new) hard disk and receive exactly the same failure during the windows recovery.
I am now faced with the decision whether to spend money on repair or give up and buy another laptop!
Any ideas of where to go from here?
Do I need to format the new hdd or is this automatically?
I have another acer aspire 5736z - if all fails can I use the hdd as a slave in this model?
