How can I recover desktop on Acer netbook? 9"Small screen

Windows XP. This message is stuck on my desktop: Active Desktop Recovery - 'Microsoft Windows has ..experienced..unexpected error..precaution..your active desktop has been turned off..." Unable to scroll to bottom of error page, to follow directions and click on appropriate options. Can't get there! Can't view entire text / page. Tried adjusting DPI in Control Panel, but again, can't scroll down to click options / OK...

What do you get when you right select?
Can you use the keyboard Page Down?

Acer Aspire One Netbook; Model Numer - ZG5 (AOA 150) XP;


When I try `right select' / `right click': Arrange Icons By...; Refresh; Graphics Properties..; Graphic Options.. New.. and Properties..appear.

Cannot scroll down by using keyboard Page Down. Nothing happens! Nothing happens with click on down arrow!

Try System Restore from Safe Mode with command prompt.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/ht/systemrestorecp.htm tells how to do it.

On the other hand, it might be a case of a corrupted account. Then just use your spare administrator account (or the secret administrator account that turns up in Safe Mode) to make a new account and use that in the future.
