hi i really need some help on my laptop i have a acer 4820t. basically last week i was using it plugged in, and it just turned off. wouldnt start. wouldnt turn on without battery or with battery. tested the charger, it works. so was told i need a new motherboard. so i bought one of ebay, changed them over.
laptop now starts up now, but theres no screen. the fan just gets really loud. the screen is not a problem as i have tried using a external screen and it doesnt work.

The motherboard is no good or there are more bad parts to change. And there's the rub. Unless you work in a service repair center you can't swap parts to find out which part it is.
I'd cut my losses by returning the motherboard, pulling out the HDD into some USB case if I forgot to backup and then ebay off the parts.

looks like im going to have to do that. if i get the same laptop or one that uses the same hardrive. and put my hardrive from this in it, would it simply have everything on it that i had. dont want to lose anything, theres nothing i have to do is there?

It's never a sure thing. Microsoft's copy protection MAY or MAY NOT kick in. You just never know.

if not i'll just have to take it to a computer shop to get it backed onto a external hardrive
