Acer Notebook battery problem

Hi all, I have a laptop Acer Aspire 3810TZ, and when I unplug the power from the source, the laptop shuts down, restarts when I connect it back to its source. I would like to think that the problem is not the battery. Please, help to solve this.

How old is this?

I think this laptop is over 2 years old. Since batteries are 300 cycle to 18 month things, this is well outside the expected lifespan.

But that doesn't stop folk from wishing it's not this or a machine in need of repairs.
