Acer Desktop M3470 lan shuts down Reboot only fixes for 10 m

Acer Desktop M3470
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Buffalo Air Station router
Computer is just over a month old. I installed a WD MyBook Essential 3TB USB3.0 drive and problems started from there... Just last few days, I noticed my LAN would shut down. I can get on via built-in wireless, but my LAN is down right now. I unplug everything and reboot... But after 10 mins., the LAN drops out again.
Updated router firmware, deleted/re-installed LAN drivers, deleted/re-installed WD SES drivers and software, updated AVG AV software, disconnected USB drive, everything but peripherals and printer...
HELP!

Tell the forum about Acer's support so far. It sounds like a hardware failure but you are never sure until you roll it back to the factory load and without those add ons.
