Not one person in dozens has heard of such. Besides, why would Dell want folk to know about these?
Well Intel is pushing the Ultrabook.

Your seeing more companies releasing Ultrabooks everyday. 2012 will determin the future of Ultrabooks if they can become a standard. I believe they are replacing the ATOM and netbook's of the past 2 or 3 years as the new trend. I think the reason Acer switched ODM's was because of cost.
The Ultrabook is now blurring.

Intel created the category. Now Acer is planning one with an SSD and a hard drive but it still uses the 24 technologies below. That article was one person's opinion. Ultrabook is a marketing campaign by Intel. It has worked in my opinion as it created such a buzz at CES.
Intel definition of an Ultrabook as a laptop: thunderbolt will figure into this category in 2012.
1. Ultra rapid technology
2. Smart responce technology
3. Smart Connect technology
4. Intel Identity protection technolgy
Item 4 was a nice idea.

with one so something must indicate there is a market for it. They dominated laptops at CES. It's not like the Chromebook where 3 or 4 were releases all the major players are getting involved with Ultrabooks especially with Ivy Bridge around the corner. I'm a big laptop guy and I see my 18.4" laptops being eliminated from the market. A year ago Newegg has 20 18.4's for sale and today they have 4.
