Don't be taken to the Droid Cleaners.

You may recall how Windows users were fleeced and taken to the cleaners with "registry cleaners" and other system cleaners and speed boosters.

Now those same ideas are being used to entice those same folk into what we'll call "cleaner apps" with promises to clean up Android.

I'm sure there will be a lot of promises made but if you didn't learn this on Windows, you will on your Android.

At the same time, doing this using a smartphone and then waiting for the smartphone to connect to a PC is a completely new attack vector. In the current versions of Microsoft Windows, the AutoRun feature is disabled by default for external drives; however, not all users have migrated to modern operating systems. It is those users who use outdated OS versions that are targeted by this attack vector."
