HTC vs Samsung

Hey, I was wondering if anyone could give me some help. I am deciding between the Samsung Galaxy 3 (3g) and the HTC One XL. I want to buy the phone in Australia as I need an English operating system, but I will be using it in Italy and France as I live between the two. I am with Wind Italia and am worried that the phone will not be compatible with the 4g network in Italy. I am buying the phone through jb-hi and the phone is an exclusive for Telstra (even though it is not locked to Telstra). I am a phd student and use the phone for recording lectures, taking photos for research etc.

Can any one advise me on the 4g network situation or tell me which phone is better?

My advice is to buy in country where you are going to use it. I've lost track of how many folk burst into flames over warranty support as most devices have no international warranty. And if you didn't get it from the local carriers you hit brick walls most of the time getting it on their high speed network.

I'm sure you've heard such stories. My advice is to forget it.

hey,
i would go for the s3. htc never had a good photo/video camera and samsungs support is better. so it is more future proofed

I have tried both devices, and currently have the S3. Some think HTC is better in design, buy with past experiences it lags too much through the software tweaks HTC do. I think its best to stick with Samsung.
