Locate My Kindle App

I recently purchased the Kindle Fire 8.9 HD 64GB Tablet. Having been an owner of the original Kindle Fire for about a year, I upgrade to the new HD. I purchased the app called "Locate My Kindle" from Lab4Apps.com. The application was originally designed for Android devices to help find a lost or stolen device. Upon using on my Kindle Fire, I have discovered that the application damages several functions of the Kindle fire, which can not be repaired at this time. These functions include WiFi functions, menus, and the Silk Browser. Upon discovering the defect, Jeff Bezos has removed the App from the store, but after hundreds of Kindle Fire HD devices were damaged. Users that have an 'in warranty' claim should contact Kindle Support and ask for a new device, they only have 30 days for this. After that, they will have to pay to have the unit replaced. After that, claims can be filed with the Lab 4 Apps company at this email address: info@lab4apps.com. My requests have gone unanswered.

It's the new Windows and as you discovered, not all apps work on all machines.

Emails are usually the last method I use to contact. I know this sounds old fashioned but I find the phone call to answer the questions faster. Even if the answer is not what I want to hear.

...you should only try to download applications from the Kindle Store to avoid incompatiblity issues like you are having. While the Kindle does use the Android OS, not all applications are designed to work on all devices. Would be similar to installing an application designed for Android ICS on an Android Gingerbread device, it might work but the results could be unexpected.
