how to slide zeki 7" tablet lock icon?

I have a Zeki 7" tablet running ice cream sandwich. I decided to swipe to the page to the right of the opening screen , which was blank except for the live wallpaper. I turned the tablet off when it was on that screen. Now when I turn it on, that is the page that is shown with only the date, time and lock icon. The page can't be swiped nor can the lock icon be moved of anything else be accessed.. It is taking a charge. I tried hooking it up to my computer running win xp. The zeki shows the usb icon but touching it does nothing. The tablet does not stay on more than a few seconds. Then computer with win xp showed it as new hardware that needed to be installed but then said it might not work properly.
How can I get the "start screen" back so the device can be opened and used?

I was going to remove the post, but thought this might help someone else. From Zeki support i found this.

Make sure your tablet has a full charge
Press and hold the Volume - button and tap the Reset button
(The reset button is located between the HDMI and USB ports)
Continue holding the Volume - button until the boot screen appears
Release the Volume - button

The reset button is not a button. I used an opened paper clip and repeated pressed on it while holding the volume and opening screen is back and tablet works. happy
