Ice Cream Sandwich - wait or upgrade?

I am going to buy the Asus Transformer Prime. My question is, should I wait until it comes out with Ice Cream Sandwich or is it okay to buy with Honeycomb and get upgraded? Do I lose anything by upgrading instead of starting with Ice Cream Sandwich? I would appreciate any help here.

App writers are notorious to delay supporting the newest features until there's enough in the user base to support the effort.
