Two digital TV's both receive all the same broadcasts except the Panasonic will not get a single channel numbered 23.1 WVPX. It does not find it on auto scan and there is no signal if you go to 23.1 manually. Why? older tuner?
I have a Panasonic TC32LX60 (circa 2006) and a new Insignia NS-19E310A13 both receive basic cable from Time Warner Cable in NE Ohio. Neither have a cable box. Both are receiving from a split cable signal.
Time Warner is apparently rebroadcasting what would normally be air broadcasts. I do not get a satisfactory answer when I ask Time Warner.

This is why cable companies push those boxes. If a channel fails then they can swap boxes. Since this is not their device, you have to decide if it's worth changing splitters, cables to see if that's it. In other words does it pick up without the splitter in line?

good question......I had to find out and there is no change. Removed the splitter and gave direct signal to the Panasonic. Not the splitter.
Then it's the set.

You will see this complaint on many boards. It takes the similar form of "I can't get channel __.__ on my ____ but can on my other TV." "Why?"
After seeing this a few thousand times there has never been a solid fix offered if the increased signal strength didn't help.
If the set is in warranty, exercise it.

I recently discovered that the channel 23.1 was never missing. Rather it was hiding up on 124.2. Very Strange.
I notice also that a popular station 3.1 seems to toggle back and forth to 77.1 in the evenings then stops.
Just a comment.

The new channels the HDTV system came up with is something only an engineer would love. While we can read how this came about, I've found it less than easy to punch in the 4 or more digits into a remote.
