My panasonic 42" plasma tv has a huge red and white bar going from the left to the right about 3/4 the way down please help.

Shows that failure is sadly typical. You'll want to find the service manual for this model and see if it points to any particular board to replace. Then you hunt down parts. Sorry but this sounds like you are just getting your TV Repair business started (?)
