DMR -EX83EB RECORDER no Guide plus

Ihave a DMR-EX83EB recorder but the Guide plus has stopped working when I press the green button on the remote the screen remains blank, all other functions work I can still record on the timer function so the aerial signal is ok, I have not been altering any of the settings,has anyone any suggestions as to what the problem might be, the recorder is only about 4 years old I would not have expected problems with a Panasonic item so soon.

That's not a Panasonic service. Can confuse folk.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guide_Plus covers this service and how it's bundled and more important what it is and a little on how it works.

Try any reset the box has then start calling.

And with cable companies changing to all digital cable, it's well known the cable company change will disrupt this feature.
