Panasonic DMR E228

My Panasonic DVD DMR E228 has a clock which goes back to the default time when switched off. I cannot set the time automatically, does this mean it has an internal battery which needs replacing. I have not found any for sale. Please can anyone help?

At 7 years old, it's likely to have a failure.

Service is going to be expensive so check the manual (I didn't find one) for any user serviceable batteries.

If it was mine, I'd pull the cover for a look.
