Mp4 to mp3

I have mp4 songs in iTunes that I cant't play on my school boombox that only reads mp3's. How can I convert mp4's to mp3's? That is I want to burn them on a cd as mp3's.

Not sure why you didn't ask this in the iTunes forum but,

select the track that you want to convert,
Right click on that track
Choose the "Create an MP3 version"
That's it

To burn them to a CD
Select the tracks you want to burn and create a playlist of them
Make sure all tracks have a check mark
Hit the Burn button

If you do not see the "Create MP3" line, and you give no indication that you could not, open iTunes preferences and click the Import Settings button on the General Tab.
Then choose MP3 Encoder from the "Import Using" drop down.

What prompted your "How on a Mac" question?

Control click on a trackpad.
Two fingers and click, also on a trackpad.
