Mac web display and operating crazy.

Yesterday, my iMac Desktop with 10.6.2 started becoming sluggish even with DSL connections and web pages were being displayed incompletely, off color or partially. Photo's have not been coming through and have only the icon of square box with red dot inside it. Most hot spots in web pages will provide writing as to what is there, but not the icon. What have I done to mess up the computer, soft ware or my brain? I do not think I have changed any setting in the last few days. I have run the Apple Tech Tool and all is okay. Not being very experience I do not even know where to begin. Can any one assist???

My problem was discussed with Apple under their Apple Protection Service I have with them.

My difficulties arose in FireFox 3.5. It was recommended I return to Safari so Apple could better service any problems I have. So for now, I have to enter all offending web sites manually into Safari. There the problem should cure itself as it has so far. I just wanted to make sure it was not a hardware problem, or a software problem. It seems something in bookmarks or in some web pages have gotten corrupted. I still would like the input of this group as to what my problem might be.

the problem existed in Firefox but not in Safari?

Is that correct?

Why are you entering the websites manually? No Bookmarks? Export from Firefox and import into Safari.

Yes the problem exists in Firefox as I can load the same web page in Firefox and Safari and I can get the full web page in Safari.

I am entering the bookmarks in Firefox manually into Safari as I have not figured out how to export from Firefox into Safari, but I am trying.

I still do not know what happened to make Safari load the whole web page and not the same for Firefox.

If you'all can figure it out, better for me, hopefully for others too. I have seen the same problem exist in other posts, but not the solution.

Also how do I deleat bookmarks i.e. clean up bookmarks in Safari?

Menu bar>BookMarks>Show All Bookmarks>Bookmarks Menu

Yes, I too found this after I went to Ask.com to see if there was a bookmark of this subject. There was, like the one you sent in your past post. I screwed it up several times, 'til I figured out what I was doing wrong. One reason I like Mac, is it is so forgiving. Anyway, I transferred my book marks, took Firefox out of my dock, and will just us Safari. I want to thank everyone connected with helping me to solve this problem. If any one needs help with this subject in the future, email me and I will assist them as will people on The Mac Lounge Forum.
