I didn't even know I was tracking this thread until I got an e-mail that you'd posted (so I'm glad I was).

I've been wondering what happened to you, but I've now put together the pieces to which I have access (The KEY POSTS have been unceremoniously DELETED.), and I see that you've been banned from FTM because of a run-in with cyn over your "Mac ad," and, further, that you were banned "under cover of darkness," with the general FTM community left clueless about your whereabouts and fate.

I also see that your avatar has inexplicably disappeared along with the "Garbage" stuff in your sig???

The problem, though, is this... I'm sympathetic, but I can't vent, because I haven't seen your exchange with cyn that ended with your being banned, so if you've archived it, please upload it and post a link.

Failing that, though, I'll just say that I think you deserved better treatment from the power(-)s that be than you were given.

I posted a link to this exchange very early this morning, and cyn deleted it almost immediately; I'll post again and see where it goes.

It's nice to see that your TiBook is finally back up and running, but your video takes 3 1/2 to 4 minutes longer than is necessary to make the point. (You need to research "timing!")

And since this whole episode began with a troubleshooting post, why don't you tell me how your trouble finally got shot so I can pass it on if I can contrive an opening?

By the way... Have you seen the Mod's post?

Does the quality of content degrade as people get farther a discussion?

Personally, I'd think that it gets better and would want to keep it going.

Both the e-mail idea and responding in the Mod's own thread, but I think we're best off staying in public so interested parties can see everything that goes on.

I do not condone your banning at all, but face it, FTM is a forum mainly devoted to Mac troubleshooting. It is generally not about videos or music or particular bands, a kind of grown-ups thing. The Lounge was created to discuss some grown-up stuff too. Since your main interest is in music, you might like to join other forums, not necessarily Mac-related, where you can discuss and advertise your beloved group as much as you want and find people as interested in it as you are. Otherwise, it happened to many of us to get to a rift with a mod or two but this is not something that should deter us from going elsewhere. We always choose places where we are liked and where we like others. I guess, FTM was just not your kind of forum, too adult and too serious. And it is a two-way street. If something interests you but not the others, pushing your view or interests may only alienate other people, not make them more interested. Think about it. The warning was harsh but every injustice against which we cannot fight effectively makes us learn something and adapt to the new conditions, and get stronger. Cheer up!
P.S. 10 years from now, the whole thing would bring up only a smile on your face!

Cyn has not deleted every thread you've ever started... Lower right hand corner of your screen>Display Options>Show Topics...>Change, and voila! (You should be embarrassed to have missed that!)

The only thing missing is your Mac ad and however many posts preceded/followed it, and I doubt she deleted the ad because of your Garbage shirt, but who really knows other than her?

And as for "What's wrong with Garbage..." Nothing's wrong with anything in moderation, but nobody other than shrinks want to spend their time dealing with obsession.
