Apple always holds new/updated products very close to its chest.

I would wait until MacWorld before buying a new Mac. The event is coming up, and the Minis haven't been updated in over a year. Apple is either going to kill it off or revamp it into something worth buying. Maybe we'll even see a consumer tower, although that's just some wishful thinking.

I'd wait. Like Peter said, check out the rumor sites. There are lots of them.

If you got the money to get it now I'd say go for it. Unlike most other computers out there, Apple computers retain their value better than anything else on the market. If you do get it and then they come out with something else that you think is a must have, I'm willing to bet you wont lose $50 on it, and probably a lot less than that if listed properly on eBay or Craigslist. The only exception to this would be if Apple were to drastically drop the price on the current line of Mini's which I seriously doubt.

Now if Apple would only start making cars that retained their value as well as their computers. LOL

In case anyone wonders what I did, I found a refurb on Apple's site for $500. I ended up buying that. Currently, I only need a temporary computing solution. So, I think that this will work out just fine.

As it is refurbished by Apple, it comes with the full warranty and is eligible for the AppleCare extended warranty too.
