Linking laptop - PC

Often, I wish to import/export files between my new laptop Windows 7 ((64 bit) and my old trusty XP (32-bit). Can I use both the USB sockets for a direct link, or do I have to use a stick (burdensome!)?

It takes a special cable.

And it can upset those that just want it to work.

Here I only toss a few things around with DropBox. Did you try that?

Could you tell me WHAT cable? And who can it upset? Using a DropBox is just as time-consuming as using a USB stick.

USB TRANSFER CABLE

I find many users get frustrated with that cable. If the machines are on a network why not use that? Of course networking is also tedious at times.

just a storage area. The time comsuming is coping the file. If you are transferring a large file it will take time no matter how you transfer.
