Manage updates with the Download App
We bought three HP NC6000's off-lease for the kids to use but sadly, within a few months two died (the Max1987 chip issue for both). Tried everything including getting the soldering gun out, finally gave up.
Cleaning up today, was going to toss them, but wondered, is there anything that can be done with the screens?
Meaning... are there any sort of adapters out there that will allow me pull the screens and use them for something like a secondary screen? vga adapter of some sort?

Laptops classically do not have VGA input signals to the displays. Outputs? Yes.
You may find a die hard electronics engineer that did it but if you look closely, they found an older laptop that had a VGA subsystem.
Best to keep these for spares till the last dies and then ebay the lot.

Actually eBay has some, found a video on YouTube of someone testing them out. Looked good, but, depending on make/model they ranged from $40-80 each.
I bought a DELL 19" widescreen for the kids used, very good screen, very sharp... used was $15.
Hate wasting the old screens but, $40-80 was too much. Had hoped some cheap $15 adapter off eBay or something but no such luck.
I wrote it has been done.

What most folk have a hard time with is that the trick depends on the VGA sub-system and signals in the laptop. Old laptops had such (try 10 years ago) and folk did figure it out. It's one of those areas that you either do it or not. That is, no one will document exactly how to do this with what you have. Some folk have become very upset about that.
