about connecting an analog-digital DV converter

I have a Canopus ADVC-100 video converter. I have been using it with my old iMac flat panel but now I have a MacBookPro.
The Fire Wire cable of the Canopus is 6pin-4pin, (either can be plugged into the computer).
The problem is: the MacBookPro's Fire Wire is 800 (does it mean 8pin ?), so I cannot connect the converter.
Is there a cable to link the 4pin/or 6pin ends to the FireWire800 of the MacBook ?
If not... well... what could I do ?

Not only is there a convertor

there is also a cable with Firewire 400 on one end and 800 on the other.

No problem with connectivity there.

Take a look at Monoprice.com for the cable

canopus warns about using other cables than theirs from the box but I guess I just have to try...

These cables are very cheap.

You may want to look at the 800 to 400 adapter as well.

Then you can use the Canopus cable and keep them happy!
