Back to school laptops?

I am going in to high school and am interested in getting a laptop, but I am really lost, I know so much about phones but nothing about laptops, I am loking at the
HP Pavilion dv6t 3rd Generation Intel Core i5-3210M Processor 2.5 GHz:

because there is a really good deal on a back to school package at costco but i don't know if it is a good laptop. I am looking for something that will last me at least till college.

It's a safe guess that a laptop will last to 1 day after the warranty period. Consider any day more as luck.
So pay for a 2 or 3 year warranty and hope for the best.

Still seems to be up to the user and a little luck. Any gamer will wear it out in 2 years.
