Manage updates with the Download App
A friend has a Toshiba E205 laptop running Win7 Home Premium w/SP1. He is also running TrendMicro Titanium security software. Every now and then, the bottom third of his screen goes grey with a "sad face on a battery" appearing. He says that it does not appear to be battery related but can't tell for sure. Never heard of this one.
Does anyone have any idea as to what could be going on?

It could be Toshiba's tray app with that icon which would be proper if it had some issues.
But it reminds me of tray icon issues from missing to just wrong. Before I supply a link I have to comment that I'm finding more folk thinking this stuff is without error or bug free. It's not.
http://winhlp.com/node/16 covers many of the missing to incorrect Tray Icon areas but my advice is to not do a thing and tell about how they use the machine (on battery power a lot?) and how old this battery is. WHY I ASK is folk are getting to a few years and then debate if the battery needs replacing. Well? Yes.

...touchpad symbol rather than a battery. He says it goes away when he shuts down and restarts Firefox (?).
(NT) Did they install any BABYLON or Firefox to Tray APP?

When I want to look under the hood I go get HIJACKTHIS and then reboot the machine, immediately run HJT and then if a case like this where FIREFOX or some app does this, run the app then a SECOND HJT log to comb over.
Some items I know, the rest I'm back to google.
