Here's a question for you all, although I'm not entirely sure whether this is the right forum for it (mod's please move to correct one if not)
I have a laptop with no screen and I want to be able to use this with a desktop monitor, although not in the conventional sense.
The idea is that the laptop remains portable and i can connect it to any monitor at my work, but without having to disconnect the monitors from their respective desktops first. I want a quick easy set up where i can take the laptop into office one and use the monitor there, then 5 minutes later take it into office two to do the same.
The simple solution to me would be using USB to connect the laptop to the desktop, but can this be done?
I have seen adapters to convert VGA to USB, but how would this then be viewed on the desktop monitor?
Is there a simple software solution to allow this?
In order for this to be viable, the solution needs to be fairly low-cost.
I have no doubt that one of the first replies to this will be "why do you want to do this?", and believe me I have a very logical answer which I am happy to give should you wish to know!
I get the feeling this might be a lost cause, but I would be very grateful for people's feedback on this!
