HP Pavilion dv6

I have a Pavilion dv6 that I bought last May, (2010), and it recently popped up a message telling me the battery needed to be replaced.

I tried to do my best to preserve the battery but maybe, there was some issue with it. But I wanted to report that with an email to HP Support, and a followup showing them a graphic of the HP Battery test, they are sending me a new battery for FREE. The warranty is going to expire in about six weeks so I was really lucky. I didn't buy the extended warranty. But HP support was extremely helpful.

Hello,
What is the ideal/best battery backup time you receive for the DV6 notebook?

For my notebook, I noticed that the battery backup is a little above 1hour 30minutes.

Is this a normal battery backup time for a 6cell DV6 battery?

Any idea, please share the thoughts.

My dv6

Is the one with the core 2 duo and some ati gpu. It runs off the battery from 1 to almost 4 hours DEPENDING on what I'm doing. To eek out the 4 hours the screen is set to the lowest settings, I connect with ethernet and all wireless is off and the power management is set to 10% CPU lows.

Given such a wide range of times I wonder how anyone can give a person a straight answer.

battery recall and see if yours is in the recall list and you might get a free battery. I have a DV7 and my model wasn't in the list.
