USB to Firewire adapter

My iBook only has USB ports. My Canon Camcorder wants to see a Firewire port to load movies. Never occured to me that Canon and Apple would make incompatible products. Is there an adapter?

Apple hardware does not preclude windows software

depending upon the hardware in question,

1. Could install windows using boot manager
2. Could run windows under VMWare
3. Could run windows under Parallels
4. Could run windows under VirtualBox
5. Could run windows app under the new WineBottler

As a nine-mac owner, I have to consider the above. Or just buy a cheap windows box.
