dropped laptop. won't turn on. possible solutions?

Yesterday I dropped by laptop (HP pavillion dv6500) about two feet onto hard ground. It was on at the time, but when I picked it up it refused to turn back on. However, when I plug in the power jack the blue light still shines indicating that its charging. Does anyone know what possible could have happened? I'm sure there are a ridiculous number of possibilities, but I'd still like to try and fix it.

ps. i no longer have warranty sad

Can be fixed but is it worth it?

Figure at most 600 to fix. The motherboard and LCD panels are likely to have fractures and more. Sadly, unless they replace all parts the repair can't be warrantied.

Take it as the lesson and shop for a new laptop. At least we can fish out the hard disk and I find most of the time it survives.
