Problem with MS word

Hello,

I own a Dell laptop. I run Windows XP and the drive is formatted with FAT32.
All the components in the Microsoft office are working quite well, except MS word.
I am unable create a new word file and open the existing ones. CHKDSK finds no problem.
Please help me suggesting a way.

Please tell more. What happens if
- you doubleclick on a .doc file in Explorer
- use File>Open in MS Word and browse to an existing file
- use File>New in MS Word after running it from Start>Programs

This is not typical for a laptop. The MS Office forum should have been a better place for this question. But we can continue here.

Do you know why the drive is formatted FAT32? NTFS generally is considerd superior. That's not related to the problem. Just an aside.

Way to get that back working properly was to re-install Word. you should have a disk with word on it.

Try the old standard fix.

Rename NORMAL.DOT to NORMAL.OLD

Word will make a new one the next time it runs. Also, run disk cleanup.
