What is the best laptop for 3D animation?

I am looking for a very nice laptop that would be good for 3D programs. I need a screen size of at least 15.4 inches and it doesn't matter what company it is from. If it is possible I would like to stay under 2000 dollars.

If your demos are on Apple, then that's the one to pick. With Apple rolling out Boot Camp, the reasons to not have such a machine are greatly reduced since you can boot XP or MacOSX.

In your previous reply, you noted the software was demo'd to you on the Apple.

I'm going to use Maya. It can be used on either Mac or PC. Im wondering what to get Mac or Pc and then what Mac or PC laptop should I get.

The last consideration is who is your target audience. If you are a producer then the halo effect from the Apple gives it a small boost.

As to which Apple, there are 2 intel based laptops with very distinct features. You should be able to pick one or the other.

macs are no good

a mac is not good for 3D students cause many 3D programs don't have a mac version...one of these programs is 3DS Max
