Acer 5002WLMi hard drive

hi i have an Acer 5002WLMi and it apparently has 80 gb of harddrive. when in The My computer folder two hardrives show up, i have filled up the ACER (C:) drive and was wondering if i could use the ACER (D:) drive to save files. i understand this may sound Noobish but i ws just wondering as i am unsure whether the acer (d:) IS USABLE. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

"it apparently has 80 gb of harddrive." okay, heres where i'm confused now. is the hard drive 80gb or you have more than one hard drives totalling up to 80gb? anyway, i don't think the Acer 5002WLMi has a second bay for another hard drive. isn't your D drive your optical drive? maybe you have another hard drive connected through usb on the southbridge or something. either that or your device mapping is really weird.

it has two harddrive totalling up to 80 gb one is called acer and the other is called acerdata, i am wondering if i could use the acerdata or is it empty for a reason?

okay, i still need to know both of the stand alone capacities other than the total capacity. where is the "acerdata" connected on your system? i'm sensing that it could be a smaller recovery drive for the os.

okay so when i go to my Computer it says, Hard Disk drives and under that shows Acer C and Acerdata D they are both 37.5 GB. and i was wondering if it is meant to be empty?

i suppose the acerdata could be your storage drive. yet, you say it is empty. i suppose theres nothing wrong with it. perhaps your hard drive has two seperate partitions. feel free to use the empty space, but thats just me. this isn't my solid conclusion as i haven't gotten enough details; one of them that you haven't answered yet is if your acer physically has two seperate hard drives, which i doubt since your model acer doesn't have a second ide bay. if anyone could help us draw to a closer more viable conclusion, please do so. i hope this helps mubimbo.
