those people are not true! They are just complaining because if you look really really carefully( like those people that are picky), you could probably find a white leak, there are no faulty screen with my order and if you get 2 years or more warrenty they can just replace it. The zd 8000 also doesn't have as good graphics and battery life and size. What you said about 10 lbs is sort of wrong because if you carry it for about 5 mins, you will feel the pain.

your english is a lot better than how I'd speak whatever your language is! Just a tip...check the dates of the messages you're responding to as this was an old one, the thread has likely died out.

it would be a good choice but if you do plan to carry it around then go with the dell. The HP has a better processor(desktop processor) but it isn't very portable or lap friendly.

the dell inspiron 9300 can be upgraded to the nvidia 6800 go which is hella better than x700.

im actually considering this laptop dv4000. however the review on cnet says it lacks dedicated video memory for high-end gaming. only 128 mb, and they only offer the 5400 rpm hard drive and not the 7200 one. the display is also only 15.1 inches instea of the zd8000's 17.1. the price is coming out to be almost the same as the zd8000. and it is only 1 pound or so lighter than the zd8000. i dont know if its worth it. how good is the 2.13 ghz processor ? and also how much battery life u guys get with gaming ?

I just noticed that HP is now offering the 256MB version of the ATI X700 GPU for use in the zd8000 rather than just the x600 option. This would make it a better gaming system overall than the dv4000 which has the 128MB version of the x700 GPU. However, the Nvidia Geforce 6800 is still better. Anyway, if you are planning on keeping the laptop on the desk anyway why not just go ahead and get a desktop system. It would be cheaper and more for your money. I don't think I would ever want to get a Pentium 4 in a laptop version. Too hot and no battery life.

i checked out both laptops and i decided not to get either one of them. zd doesnt have enough battery life although it delivers impressive specs. the 9300 one doesnt have a full sized keyboard and has manufacturing problems regarding the screen. someone on this forum said that it isnt true, however i dont think that tens of people would claim the same thing for no reason. if your laptop has no problems you should be happy about it instead of claiming that all of the 9300's are fine.

I decided to get a laptop from alienware (Area-51 m5700). i know what you are thinking - its overpriced. Only certain aspects ! they offer some very sweet deals too. for example it offers a 100GB 7200 RPM SATA for only 150 dollars, havent seen that anywhere. they do try to rip you off on the ram, if you try to get more than 512 the price triples. Here you can just get the lowest memory of 256 and then buy the extra memory you need separatly. it has a mobile chip and will therefore have a decent battery life and even though it isnt the lightest (8 lbs) its still lighter than the zd. this company offers good deals you just have to know how to buy from them. Now the only concern that i got is the processor. if you go above 1.73 ghz they will rip you off. so i wonder how good is the 1.73? anyone owning the computer with this mind telling me what games you play on it? i know its already better than my dell desktop but is it enough to achieve high gaming ?

P.S in addition to meeting most my needs the laptop is VERY SLEEK, other companies could learn from that.

you may want to buy your own tools for repair first.
if you research the notebook you will find that there are more unhappy then happy customers.there customer care as well as teck support falls more then short of getting you notebook back online when proublems arise

is about to buy an Alienware...some folks just don't do the research, or maybe do the research and then ignore what they learn.
