Toshiba Screen Flickering

Hi All,
Just to confirm!!
I have a Toshiba Satellite 5005-S504.
Win XP Etc. Two years old. No problems 'till now.
The Screen has started flickering and changing color, (sort of like Safe Mode VGA or a negative) and lines flashing across the screen.
Anyone know what is going on?

Boot to SAFE MODE and if the screen is flickering, contact your warranty provider NOW before you have to pay for repairs.

Not a good sign.

Yes it flickers in Safe Mode.
I thought this was trouble.
Out of Warranty.

1. SAVE my stuff.

2. Since it's out of warranty I have to ask myself what I will do with the machine. Some we turn into a desktop by plugging in an external monitor and that lets us eek another year out of it.

3. If we are sure we don't want to do that, then out come the screwdrivers and such to open it all up and disassemble it to wiggle all connections and then put it back together. Sometimes it works, sometimes it gets worse.

Try contacting Toshiba anyway. I had a simular problem with my 1800-400 screen, it just went blank and i had to Fn F5 to get it back. It was also out of warrenty and i was in a different country but as it was a known issue and hadn't been repaired under warrenty before they repaired it. It was only an hour job as well, a cable needed glueing in a bifferent place.
