For Mac: Repeated SSL/TLS warnings

I keep getting repeated warnings about a "SSL/TLS connection detected!" as pictured here: http://cl.ly/DLqb


The port is always 993 (which the internet tells me is for secure email connections), but the address changes. The only e-mail connection I should have would be Sparrow connecting to Gmail (in case it matters).


When I try to do a whois lookup of any of the addresses, I get nothing back ("No match for xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx").


So, 1) should I be worried about this, and 2) if it's not a problem, how can I turn off these warnings?

Mac OS X (10.7 Lion), Avast! for Mac 1.0 (35889b)

but those SSL/TLS settings are email server specific and are not related to email software or OS type.

Check your SMTP email settings against those recommended by your email provider to see you have the correct settings.

Doesn't seem SMTP related to me; can't change it anyway.

Sparrow is a Mac OS client for Gmail, so there are no SMTP settings, just a name and password.

I assume if the settings were incorrect, I wouldn't be able to send e-mail (which I am) and if this were the problem it would only trigger while sending e-mail. It happens randomly though.

I'm still curious if there's any way to find out if this is some other software sending information on port 993, or if it's just a false-positive and I can turn those specific warnings off.
