Why am i hearing a popping sound when changing video inputs

when i turn on my LCD TV and then power on an input ( like a dvd player) sometimes i hear one popping sound coming from my tv.....And when i shut down a device while my tv is on, i hear the same noise. It happens to all the input devices (xbox, blu-ray , etc) .

I have the SONY KDL -46V5100 . is this an issue with my tv?....this has been happening ever since i bought the tv ( 3 years ago) but never really gave it much thought. It doesnt do it when i power on a device and my tv is connected to a different input

Im using HDMI cables for all inputs. Im thinking its the HDMI since all video and audio is sent in one cable.

This is Kevin Krause from Sony Support USA. I am sorry to hear about the popping sound that you are hearing when changing video inputs on your TV. To help resolve this issue, I would suggest visiting Sony's esupport site for your model, which is http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=KDL46V5100&LOC=3#/howtoTab. This site will provide you with some helpful troubleshooting tips and will also provide you with the opportunity to setup and evaluation with an authorized service dealer to help determine what the problem is that your TV is having.
