Sony forum: Where can I find Sony monitor drivers?

Bob - As I said, the messages said that the ZIP file could not be located. It wasn't that I could not unzip the files. In any event, here's the URL:

And surprising to me is it mentions the monitor.inf !

Downloading it now. Letting it extract to C:\SONYDSP\

I see 5 files in that folder including the SnyLCD53.inf which is simply a monitor.inf file. I'm going to assume you have used and know what monitor.inf files are and do. Along with how to edit them when the need arises (notepad works for me.)

If you can't run the .exe that's OK. But there was no sign a zip was involved.

Bob - Thanks for your reply. Most of what you wrote means nothing to me. I have never worked with an .inf file and would not attempt to edit one. I saw that the file was an .EXE when I attempted to download it a few days ago, which is why I attempted the download in the first place. I assumed it would have gone smoothly if I followed the instructions on the web page, which I did.

Inasmuch as the download is not for my comnputer, I just now downloaded it to a CD-ROM. The download was instantaneous with no messages indicating that a ZIP file could not be located. I'll attempt to download it to my friend's computer ASAP.

Thank you for your assistance. If you have any suggestions to make the installation from a CD-ROM go smoothly, I would appreciate it if you would share them as well.

And copying it to the desktop of the target machine MIGHT be the right first step then run it from there.

Sorry if this didn't make any sense. It's slightly technical.

That reply was not too technical. Actually, I was/am not planning the download from a CD-ROM. I'll use the link, but thanks for your helpful reply.
