Sony DCR-HC26 touch screen froze !

Hello- I'm a TV tech and the touch screen on my camcorder just froze. I know I can fix it if I know where or what the problem is. LCD is nice and crisp and touch screen is not cracked. Is this a case of a bad cable that connects the LCD to main board or LCD itself ? Is touch screen part of the LCD or can it be replaced separately ? Thanks for any tips !

The problem I see is that there are few parts and documentation on this. You may want to get a second unit off ebay that has a drop or other damage and then scavenge the parts.
